Read good reviews about ChoLon Bistro since I started working in Denver but just never have the chance to come. Asian fusion feels a bit too heavy for me. But last week I was checking out restaurants around the area again and ChoLon changed their website to include pictures of the dishes. I couldn’t resist after seeing the photos.
First came the famous free appetizer. The sesame sheet with homemade chili sauce.

Then I ordered the Kaya toast with coconut jam and egg cloud. The egg cloud is ver foamy.

Finally the main course. Singapore style
lobster. Got some spicy taste to it and came with many little buns (which tasted awesome by the way). This is a great dish and I totally recommending it.

Have to say this is quite a lot for one tiny Asian girl.
This week staying at Ritz Carlton. Great hotel. And Elway’s is location in the hotel. I found this restaurant when I searched for Japanese restaurant before an figured I will try it the week in staying at the hotel instead.
The first night at the hotel was a Monday. The restaurant is fully booked with reservation and I found a seat in the bar area instead. The bar is packed also.
Looked at the menu the server gave me and couldn’t find any sushi. Saw another menu up on the bar counter. Right there. And also a note: 4:00pm – 10 pm Tuesday to Saturday.
What?!?
Well, I guess I need to pick from the American menu instead.
I ordered my favorite appetizer, beet salad. It was delicious!!

For entree, I ordered scallops. Cooked just right with center a bit rare.

And of course two days later I went back to Elway’s for the sushi. Not many choices. And with the seared tuna half off during happy hour, I ordered that and sashimi plate.

Last time I was here was a year ago. This is the first restaurant recommended by my client. I went to tried with my engagement manager. We both loved it. Great services. Great atmosphere.
Main theme here for this restaurant are their dipping sauces. Each of the entree comes with three choices of sauces you can choose from probably 30+ on the menu.
Haven’t been back until now only because it is a bit out of the way for me going back to my hotel. But as the weather becomes better now, a walk to this nice restaurant is worth it.
Greeted with great services here. First came the bread. I value breads served at restaurants. It says a lot. The breads here come with freshly roasted garlic. Wow.
I began my meal with tuna tartar with mango and some spicy sauce. Awesome!!

Next is cheeses. I chose cheeses only as suppose to mix with meats. Came along are apple slices, candied walnuts and truffle flavored honey. Yum.

This time I ordered the same thing as last time. Grill tofu. I love tofu. And of course comes along the famous sauces of this restaurant. I chose Asian pear chutney, peanut sauce and red curry. Going total Asian here.
