How many credit and debit cards do you have in your wallet? Are they making your wallet looking bulky?
Do you worry losing your wallet and need to call each bank to cancel your credit cards?
Here’s an idea to help with your convenience in life. Having credit and debit cards combine into one; requiring pin number before using your credit card so it becomes a piece of useless plastic if picked up by strangers.
Last month in the DEMO startup conference in Silicon Valley, Card 2.0 stole the thunder of the show. Multifunction cards became the center of attention. The cards has a programmable magnetic strip called electronic stripe to provide the intelligence to the cards. The new “device” is thin, flexible and durable looking like the traditional credit card containing battery that lasts for over 3 years.
Two types of cards were introduced. MultiAccount card that contains buttons for you to select which account you are intending to use. This can be a credit card account and a debit card account on the same card.
The second card type has a “Hidden” feature. It conceals part of the credit card number on the face of the card with a black and white display. There are 5 buttons on the card where you input your pin and the full credit card number will then get shown in the display. The account number gets written to the Electronic Stripe and you can then use the card for purchases just like normal credit card.
Citibank will begin testing Card 2.0 next month starting with Citi’s Dividend Platinum Select MasterCard and its PremierPass Elite.
Dynamics, Inc. is the company behind Card 2.0 started back in 2007. As CEO Jeff Mullen stated, “We are just scratching the surface with what these cards can do with these initial products.” This is a new era for the card transaction and functions such as rewarding points or cash are just down the road making our spending a lot easier.
When was the last time you really pay attention to the safely instructions on a plane before it takes off. It’s the same thing over and over again, a little better if they play it on a tv where you can actually see the demonstration. Airlines try to think of ways to get passengers’ attention from having attractive flight attendant to make the short demonstration film at Delta to having kids doing the demo at Thomson Airway (which we adore by the way), here’s a new one.
To get the passengers’ attention, Cebu Pacific Airlines decided to get the crew to do the demonstration with Lady Gaga and Katy Perry’s songs as background music while they dance. Really creative and definitely catching our attention too.
During an interview for CNBC at the White House, the President skillfully squashed the insect and was proud of it. People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals (Peta) “condemned the President for setting a bad example”. In order to make sure it’s not going to happen again, Peta is sending the President a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher.
